FabLab Hours Sign
The FabLab Hours were constantly changing with student schedules. Prior to making this sign, we would laser cut a new piece of wood/acrylic every time our hours changed. I created this flexible hours sign to show off our FabLab capabilities and reduce our scrap waste.
Peacock
When I was a teenager on Long Island our neighbor had peacocks that they let roam free. I always loved their vivid colors and flair. I vector cut this peacock and stained it with water color paint.
Gift for Dad
My father is an avid puzzle builder. So, I wanted to design a puzzle for him that incorporated my favorite image of the two of us.
Gift for Dad
I added watercolor stain to the "sky" in our photo in an effort to add a pop of color and enhance the contrast of the two of us against the background.

Earrings
A small sample of the many earrings I designed during my time at the FabLab
Leather Wallet
A leather wallet designed, cut and assembled by me. The wallet features a fractal tree engraving on both sides.

FabLab Pins
An experiment in adding color to laser engraved objects.
Copper Engraving
The first application of the Fiber Laser at UVM. I worked closely with artist, Jane Kent to engrave musical notes onto copper plate for the purposes of printmaking
Interlocked Chess Pieces
My first ever laser project on the Epilog Laser. A set of 3-dimensional chess pieces built from interlocking 2D plywood components.
Kangaroo Zoetrope
A zoetrope carousel composed of laser cut plywood. The assembly is composed of a DC motor, Arduino and LED. The laser cut kangaroos are designed such that they appear to jump and land in a continuous motion.

FabLab Electro-mechanical Workshop (2017)
This object was a part of an electro-mechanical workshop that I designed at the FabLab. The base of the object was composed of 3 LED's in series with a lithium battery. The battery was configured with a small spring. When the laser engraved acrylic was pressed down the leads of the battery powered the LED's to illuminate the image engraved in the acrylic.

Throughout my time at the Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) at UVM, I personally designed and laser cut many projects. Some tested the capabilities of the machine and others were just a fun design challenge. Since leaving the FabLab I've taken my passion for creating to new mediums, but the Laser Cutter holds a special place in my heart as the first machine that became an extension of my creativity.
